Barca was able to continue the offensive and conquer several Italian cities that were allied to Rome. It was thanks to him that Northwest Africa was able to maintain their independence for as long as they did. Barca was a brilliant strategist and after his defeat, Roman generals used the tactics deployed by Barca to help them fight and win wars.
